Faith and Fitness Are Not Separate
For too long, physical health and spiritual health have been treated as two different conversations. But Scripture tells a different story. God cares deeply about how we steward our bodies — and for the Christian athlete, that truth is the foundation of everything.
Key Scriptures on Body Stewardship
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."
This is the cornerstone. Your body isn't just yours — it's a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. How you fuel it, train it, and rest it is an act of worship.
1 Timothy 4:8
"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
Paul acknowledges the value of physical training. It's not vanity — it's stewardship. The key is keeping it in proper perspective, rooted in godliness.
Romans 12:1
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship."
Offering your body as a living sacrifice means showing up to your training, your nutrition, and your recovery with intentionality and reverence.
3 John 1:2
"Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."
God desires wholeness — spiritual and physical. Pursuing health is aligned with His will for your life.
What This Means for Your Nutrition
